I remember a really cool one a few years ago my dad and I did in some park in St. Louis.
One we found the cache itself, we realized it was a modified ammo box. The box was chained to the log it was hidden near, there were three steel bolts that extended out of the box, and there was a laminated piece of paper tied to the box.
The paper told a short story, that if you paid attention to, would reveal how you should rotate each bolt, and how many notches outward each bolt should be pulled.
Granted, most caches are just "find-the-film-cannister", but it's the ones with a lot of heart and thought put into them that really makes Geocaching a blast.
Plus being /out/doors is breddy gud too :D
