Is there a map or a list of places to stealth and wilderness camp in the US/World? I thought there was a list but I can't find it anywhere.

You are looking for the terms, "dispersed camping" in USA and "wild camping" in the UK. Some parks will list dispersed camping zones, some do not.

I'm sure there is somewhere but having it be widely accessible would defeat the purpose a little bit. Try starting a campsite thread for your home state and you may eventually get some answers. It could take a while though.

Let's just turn the whole world into a boring curated adventure for anyone with access to google.

There is a reason many people who go /out/ hate people that geotag and broadcast all the best locations to visit. It's not too hard to find nice places if you put in the work, but we don't need to spoonfeed everyone or else places that are nice to visit and desolate with be far and few between.

Spots that are shared online become cesspools with an endless parade of human garbage.

In Australia we have an app called wikicamps, think it's got a paywall to deter all the plebs but it has every free national park camp ground and paid spots aswell

make sure its geographically what your looking for and not just thick forest. also make sure its in a location you are somewhat familiar with, dont just go wandering about into hermit land

like most of the other anons have been saying just go /out/ and figure it out.

But you can google "backpacking/camping (your location)" and find some stuff from there. also if you live in a more popular /ou/ area of the US there are lots of book and trail maps of major sites
