i'll usually go backpacking or car camping for a weekend here and there in the mountains and i normally bring:
cup of noodles, cliff bars, canned soup with protein in it, apples, turkey+beef jerky, corn nuts (chile picante)

occasionally i'll have MREs if my buddy who likes em comes with me, other than that I do not purchase MREs myself.

sometimes buckwheat if I'm going to be out for a while.
Beers
Catch/forage:
Lake trout
Grouse
Rabbit
Squirrel sometimes, don't care for them as much
Local edible mushrooms provided they're in season. (chanterelle, black morel, puffballs every once and a while, COTW, king bolete, found lions mane one time and haven't seen any since).
I dug for roots with a buddy once but he knows much more about them than I do.

you could just put them on a pointy stick (just make sure no one is close that will call the police on you for using such a dangerous weapen if you are a UKuck) and roast them over the fire, so you don't have to carry around some dirty, grease tinfoil with you.
And those don't really work well for multiday. For single day, you can bring about anything. If you are autistic enough, you could even do a fucking fondue or something.
