But I think you need to take into account the elevation. Besides the Alps 'cause that's common sense, Italy has the Apennine mountains stretching all over the country from north to south, so I guess the climate up there wouldn't be the same as close to the coast.
Same for rainfall. If it's anything like in France the coast will be sunny very often even during fall and winter but I have no idea how it is when you start to gain altitude
