I have 4 I use for different things
First for day hikes I have camel back that carries I think 4 liters of water and maybe another 6 liters of stuff, enough for a map, compass, spare socks, trash bag, space blanket, multi tool, fire starting stuff, string, a couple bandaids and painkillers, spare contacts, some wet wipes etc.
Then I have a larger pack for true day hikes, like 6-12 miles
its a new outlander, 20 liter I believe, same stuff as above but add a gun, extra layer or two, coat if needed, more food and water. I sometimes carry a bladder too if there is not water sources around.
Over night 1-3 nights, I have a Gregory 60 liter, same stuff as above but add tent, sleeping bag, change of clothes, more food, water filter, ect.
3-5 nights I have a 90 or 95 Gregory pack, same stuff, just more of it, sometimes a bigger sleeping bag, coat, ect. I almost never go more than 5 nights. If I had the right gear I think I could through hike 30+ days with this pack.
