Its just something else I thought people can consider when picking a tool for the job which is relevant to outdoorsy types that might be in sub-zero temps.

If you do need something with some stain resistance, you could look at A2 or D2 which has a slightly higher chromium content and will work to about -20 to -30C, the A2 might go a bit lower due to its nickel and manganese content.
The downside of A2 and D2 is that they're a bit of a shit to resharpen in the field, but they take a long time to get blunt.
