You just crave carbs because your body is used to carbs all the time. Remove all carb intact and your body switches to fats and proteins as the main source of energy. The craving will go away after that happens. You basically eat a ketogenic diet now.

Semi-unrelated but for intense activity you still need carbs even if you are used to low carb/keto lyf.

It makes sense for people with certain problems, but currently it is primarily a fad diet that many follow because they want to keep eating fatty red meat and call it healthy.

Carbs are absolutely a performance food. Athletes still carb load for that express purpose.

Keto is great, but it should be done in cycles, such as no carbs before noon or after midnight. With longer multi-days or weeks of no carbs.

In theory you could go Keto for the entirety of Winter which is the traditional season where wild carbs are mostly unavailable.

Keto can be very healthy, however you won't have the energy/endurance potential that carbohydrates give you. Of course the good part is you can have a spoon of honey and that will perk you up (remove low sugar headaches) for an hour or two to get you through your workout. Yes you're pulling your body out of keto, but your body will switch back.

Do you have a cooking pot? If you just need sugar and don't mind losing some nutrients, you can reduce some crushed berries with water and drink that, it will help with sleep too.
You could also learn to make pemmican. It's not difficult to make pemmican and add honey to the recipe. It will still preserve well, though I assume not as long because it might attract insects, but those carbs are worth it. Consider making a bunch for your next trip out. Add aromatic berries if the taste of pemmican bothers you. That and the honey, and it should mask the flavor.

That's absolute nonsense. During winter there's an absence of leafy greens. Root vegetables high in carbs could still be found. Also people learned how to store pretty early on, and your ancestors at some point probably lived somewhere warm.

Apparently you didn't read them. The first link states the other problems the three month old that died had (not a keto diet), the second is a bodybuilding forum with no actual references, and the third is from fucking dalymail and the lady had ketoacidosis, not something brought on by a keto diet... and again it was dailymail.
