>>1122300That sounds like cool beans! We used to do something similar in the corn fields in New England. Easy to walk along the rows, but very spooky when you're in a 200acre corn field in the middle of the night getting lost amongst the stalks.
Also we have this huge (~100acre) overgrown farrow hayfield out back that's basically just a gigantic bramble patch now. As kids we used to to chop paths and tunnels through the thick brambles and it would be like a giant labyrinth/fort with hidden rooms and passageways and whatnot. Plus you had all the raspberries and blackberries you could eat.
The brambles were mostly tall enough to be well above our heads, so you'd basically have this narrow canyon winding through the prickers. The thing is, these paths that we cut through the brambles would start to be used by animals as hunting and game trails. So at dusk when we were out playing in the brambles sometimes you'd see a deer run down the path, and sometimes you'd see an entire pack of coyotes prowling the trail single-file. It was fucking intense.
