Where I live it gets to 105F every summer and is about 90% humidity (nights are 95F and 100%). When I was logging all summer long, with an axe, the most I ever drank in a single day was 1 gallon. That's working and hiking from dawn to dusk every day, even Sundays, for 2 months. I was sweating my balls off. But, here's the thing. I only notice I'm sweating because it isn't evaporating properly due to absurd humidity. Normally, it evaporates and I don't notice it, but my rate of sweating will remain the same since it is already maxed out. However, I take electrolytes (table salt and a multivitamin) when I'm working super hard like that and as a result, I don't need to drink ass loads of water. I also have this thing called a dorag I can wrap around my head to soak up sweat, keep it from dripping off & getting wasted, and help cool my off even further.
If you are drinking 3 gallons of water a day, you either have really shitty clothing you are wearing or your diet is fucking terrible.
