I hate to use this fucking phrase, but are ferro rods a meme?
I mean you see just about every "survival guy" striking this thing whenever they want to light a fire, often several times followed by a lot of blowing, while absolutely refusing to even look in the general direction of a match or lighter. I get they last a while, but lighters are light and even the weatherproof ones are cheap, seems like you'd have an easier time just carrying a handful in a zip lock or something.
