Have any of you ever been bitten while /out/? Ether by a rattler or any other venomous snakes? This honestly freaks the fuck out of me more than anything else while out. More than bears, ticks, or dumbass rednecks, this right here is what genuinely gives me the jeebies.

Anyone ever had any close calls? Bitten and almost didn't make it or come close? Dry bites?

>be out hiking in eastern WA
>alone, hot, dry canyons
>late spring so snakes are still coming out but not super common yet
>step up onto a rock ledge on my way to the canyon rim
>hear that sphincter-tightening rattle AND a nice long hiss
>look down and see a rattler as thick as my forearm coiled and less than a foot from my exposed ankle
>slowly back away and go change my soiled underwear while crying and shaking

Fuck snakes man
