If (and that's a big if) I remember correctly, the common ancestor of all cats, post sabre, was pretty close to the panther, and when the panther evolved into the lion, it was the scarcity of medium game that required them to hunt in packs, necessitating social bonding. That's not something that most other cat species experienced. The lynx should have been an exception to that, except (and again, big if) I think that I remember reading that Egypt was still forested until around the building of the pyramids and agriculture, which would have been about the time that lynxes started becoming domesticated cats.
>>1128797I don't think you comprehend what evolution is. It's merely small genetic variations that get inbred due to a higher breeding rate than subjects absent of that variation. That's why some dogs have short little legs and some have all white fur. Evolution is just selective breeding caused by nature.
