So my girlfriend wants me to cut a tree down in her backyard that is dead. I told her I would help, but after thinking about it, I realized how dangerous this can be. I have never used a chainsaw. The tree is only about a foot and a half around at the base, but 25 feet high. She has a ladder and says she would rent me a chainsaw. I think I am in over my head here, I might get hurt. I don't wanna fall and break my fucking neck. Are there any tips you guys can give? Should I just not do this? I know it is easy as fuck to cut your leg. Should I just tell her to hire the professionals? There are no other trees near it where I can prop the ladder up on, a garage roof to one side, and a neighbors back yard on the other. So it is a little more complicated than just "falling" a tree. If it was /out/ I would not be so worried, but I think there are too many factors here. Any advice is appreciated.
