>>1129037>>1129037Dont Pizza when your are supposed to French Fry and you will have a good time anon.
Dont over layer. 1 pair of long johns under your ski pants and a shirt and a hoodie under your jacket and that's all you''ll need for most days.
If your boots dont have good grip then bring crampons for the resort parking lot. Those things are icy as fuck.
Especially since its your first time dont bring a backpack or a water bottle or keep anything in your jacket pockets when your on the slope. I had a buddy who broke his rib snowboarding when he kept his metal cigarette case in his chest pocket and wiped out.
You should get some lessons now too but if you go on your own:
Watch some videos online before you go to get an idea of the progession.
Your first few times down the hill should be with a buddy. So he can show you getting on/off the lift, general tips, and basic rules of the road. You shouldnt get on the lift without knowing how to slow and stop yourself. And your buddy shouldnt leave you alone until you have shown you have good enough control to avoid obstacles and other people.
Set goals for yourself based on the progression goals and dont be afraid to ask other skiers and liftees for help.
Strike up conversations on the lift! Dont be the guy who just stares at the snow.
Im more of a snowboarder, but these are good tips too.
>>1129060If this is your first time, aim to be driving at least 2 hours before the lifts start. That way you can deal with parking (Which will take forever if its a day with good conditions or fresh powder) and getting your lift tickets while still having enough time to eat and get ready. If you end up having time to kill then you could practicing stopping on the flats with a friend.
Make sure you know what SnoPass/Winter pass type passes or parking permits you need before you go and where you can get them.
Also raise your stoke level to 110% before you go.
