I plan on traveling all over Aus next year, is there anywhere in particular I should have a look at or spend time?

If you're talking about hiking, there's a 45-60 day hike that crosses victoria, the ACT and NSW

there's a bunch of 4 day hikes that are pretty chill, like the great ocean walk
tasmania's got pretty nice fruit and really nice views if you wanna go /out/ in their national parks
can't really say much for the other four states, i'm not a fan of the desert

I plan on walking/hitchhiking and spend as much time as I can exploring. Haven't spent much time in the desert but it's something I'm going to try just to see what it's like.

I'm thinking about going in a couple of weeks. My sis wants to do a tour of the east coast from cairns to Brisbane.

Any ideas on what to do with a non /out/ person? We'll be there for 10 days and all we have planned is the great barrier reef.

Basically, get an international drivers licence + buy a cheap shitbox when you get here. Drive around and see the sights, lot of national parks which range from sandy desert, rocky desert, tropical jungle, sub-tropical rainforests to sub-arctic tundra and old growth forests.
I mean, its a continent so you're not going to really just walk or hike anywhere in a hurry and once you're out of the cities, you need a car.
