>>1145761I saw something similar in Egypt (did a tour back in 2006), out in the White Desert, which fittingly enough has lots of these similar sort of structures, but made of calcium/chalk. Yes, I know chalk is a soft mineral and wind/sand erosion doesn't keep them forever, but it still takes several decades to form these.
And so in comes this chubby beaner-american from Texas and his girlfriend, and first thing he does when we hop out of the jeep is run over to one of these (about chest high) and start pushing and kicking at it (imagine a fat mexican in a Spurs ballcap trying to do roundhouse kicks) . Sure enough it falls over, and he picks up the chunks and smashes them against another one (smaller, about waist height), knocking it over.
Our guide/driver is just leaning against the jeep, watching him, lips pursed, shaking his head.
We did a tour/camping thing for 5 days, and I had to laugh at him later because the fucker got diarrhea. He looked miserable, and had to squirt every hour, which in an open desert is hard to do privately.
