Municipal offices are also more than happy to help. if you are traveling in quebec they are a great resource because a lot of the small towns don't have any stores and nothing can be found online, but they have water, washrooms, and know literally everything about the surrounding area such as local businesses, phone numbers, routes etc.. I think if you ask them they are legally required to give you an index of crown land properties in their municipality for free.. not 100% sure about the cost but they have been mailed out to people for free before..
