ok /out/ so since the weather broke i've noticed a lot of retards want to bring their vicious retard dog out and like to let them run around without a lease. i was attacked by a pit bull on the job about a year ago and it really fucked up shit up, hate the things ever since. yesterday this group of white trash had their pit bull running around the state forest and i was almost sure it was gonna bite my ass. i had my knife on me but i'd still probably take a bite if it came down to me defending myself. would bear spray work on these?

Also general self defense from wild animal thread, guns are welcome but I'd like alternatives since I can't open carry or carry at all where I usually hike.
