What does /out/ think of trekking poles? I'm sure it's been discussed but has anyone bought them and regretted the purchase?

depends on the terrain, I like my BD ones, I want to try one of those tarp shelters made to use them for support

Usually I use a wooden staff but decided to try poles this year for reasons, bought the same as in your pic. A staff sort of becomes your best friend and the poles felt less personal but worked alright.
