you seem to be misunderstanding something here. it's not a kit for comfy sleep camping. it's a kit to save your life if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere in the winter for 3 days. you don't need food for 9 days at all. water is an issue, i think they assume you can find filterable water or will be able to collect snow, if it was for desert climate it would be suicidal but it looks like a north american winter kit by all means and water should be abundant.

i can't comment on the quality of the stuff, seems to be a well thought out system. i especially like the hand-crank power bank and phone charger. that alone could be a life saver.

it will get you out of the elements allow you to survive in normal winter clothing even if the temperature falls and there is heavy wind.

i wouldn't pay $300 for it with my current income bracket, but i see the value of the product in it for someone who is better off and his time is more valuable. it's actually a hell of a lot less retarded than many kits i seen.

yes, but again you are missing the obvious.
you make shelter. the items help you a reflective blanket behind you + fire at a wind shielded location is extremely comfy. you can make a bed out of green pine branches or even any arm thick branches really that insulate you from the ground. takes about an hour or two to set up a camp that let's you sleep comfy and everything you need to do is in there. well aside from an axe and a saw but you got that weird shovel thing.

the most important thing to get protection from is the wind and the rain. if you get wet and wind blows you die. simple as that. but people can survive in the winter naked in a good shelter and with fire. with a decent winter cloth it will be a piece of cake.

you nigger did you even look you dumb fuck? there is lots of reflective materials that stop wind and water and 30 feet of paracord and a shovel you can saw with or chop off branches. what the fuck else do you want? i'm not saying i could build a log-house with that but i can build a shelter with a hell of a lot less. really just the knife and the paracord is a good start but quick rain-proofing and reflective lining is like cheat mode.

building a shelter is much about improvising and knowledge. but tools and cordage make it a hell of a lot easier and faster. like ten times faster. and fucking water proof reflective lining makes a shitty shelter luxurious.

if you build it yourself you still won't get it so well organized most likely but should come out a hell of a lot cheaper. a crank charger radio light is like $20 on aliexpress.

the first aid kit is pretty basic, I wouldn't trust the multi tool shovel, knife, radio, or backpack. the gloves are cheap and probably don't fin anyone properly. cheap flashlights are fine in a pinch but don't count on it.

so what do you get for $300?
paracord, water tablets, some bandaids, glow sticks, safety goggles, a toque, rations, a space blanket and emergency tent.

really $50 of useful shit in an emergency and a lot of dead weight

bug out bags are pretty dumb anyway, you are best off to get a compact camping kit, use it frequently so you know what works and ditch/upgrade what doesn't

i think that product is obviously and specifically targeted to people who don't do what you just said. people who want some stuff in case but can't be bothered to go out and fuck around or hunt gear for themselves. and for that it's actually good. contents worth a $150 tops the bag and organized maybe an other $50. but when you consider their costs and taxes to pay what are they left with $50 per kit maybe?
