Is there anyone from New Hampsire on here? Moving from the south to buy land up there. How /out/ is it? What is the best area of the state. What should someone from the south expect?

Pretty /out/ (Live in Southern NH). I'd reccomend somewhere up North near the White Mountains; My family has a chunk of land in Landaff up there and its very comfy. Expect colder shorter days for 1/4 of the year, and very nice summers.

If you choose to go somewhere near White Mountains, you are very close to some of the best hiking in the country.

How sustainable is the land in that region. For some crops. And any larger predators I should worry about for live stock.

There are many farms up in Landaff that I drive by regularly. Predators to look out for are bobcats and people that I know of, but I'm not a farmer so I couldn't tell you more.

It takes a cold ass winter to build up a good resistance to those 35-50 degree daytime temps IME. I mean yeah it's not noticeable when you're hiking but it deters you from going outside for more leisurely things

I was looking just south west of that. What blows my mind is the availability and affordability of land in that state. And planing ahead for when me and the ole lady have kids I really like the fact that it is ranked among the best in education health and crime. And the state is fucking gorgeous.

Its affordable because you pay out the ass for property tax. It's the only way the state makes any money and they screw over almost all landowners.

Also southern NH here. Only have nice things to say about the culture and outdoors here. Northern New England is truly an amazing place. I can't wait for the snow.

Laconia is eh tier but Gilford is amazing (public schools are great). I live in the suncook valley which is a little white trash but if you stay out of the town centers it's a nonissue. You have local ski mountains like gunstock nearby and plenty of lakes/ponds to kayak through if thats your thing.
