Is it safe to bundle up with jackets and use a normal sleeping bag to sleep in my backyard? How can I avoid being bit by chiggers?

This. The number of times I’ve gotten blackout drunk and just slept in someone backyard is quite high. Not once did I die. Not once did I not wake up with the sun feeling anew. Only once had I shit myself.

Last time I went camping, I wasn't sprayed down the first night and spent a lot of time laying on the bareground next to the fire, just t-shirt and shorts.
Had so many fucking chiggers, every limb of my body.

Scratching them all felt so good that I actually came.
