generally it's already been par boiled and this the proteins are already broken down enough to not even have to simmer to be ready. same goes for cup noodles as compared with packets of ramen. the cup noodles can just sit in hot water whereas the ramen cakes need to boil awhile first.

Yeah, I guess so, Tiger Balm is from Singapore, Monkey balm is from Thailand. otherwise it is very similar. Thai's have tons of balms based on natural oils, the green balm is hardcore, like Tiger balm on steroids.

hohoho you're in luck friend! go to walmart and get some of those Lipton packets like I posted above (onion or beefy onion work fine) and use those with water to make your taters. shit will blow your mind! you just have to be able to find this shit. if you have a Walmart you have broth packets

I always take pic related if I'm out for a few days. £2 for just over 1000 calories that's not bulky.

Instant oat packets (pour water directly into bag so you don't need to scrub your shit clean after), white rice, sachets of tuna or chicken, tea bags, sugar, soup and nuts are always with me as staples.

Ramen, cheese, chocolate, tortillas or dried potatoes are the only common things I'll throw in if I fancy them.

Sounds awesome! How about I add some mashed potatoes and ramen to the broth? I can skip adding the ramen packet because of high sodium.

Steel cut oats
Rolled oats
Instant oats

Very few people are going to take the 20 minites to prepare steel cut. Rolled and instant take nearly the same amount of time which is not long.

I wouldn't bring instant food but that's because half the fun of going /out/ for me is foraging, but a bit of miso is a good idea. Adds a lot of flavor, calories, takes up little room, should be nutritious, etc. Mix that with whatever you can find and you'll have a decent soup no matter what.

spice bros. when i fucking around in vieques (island off the coast of Puerto Rico) i found a place that makes this hot sauce. Im not a hot sauce guy (spicy mustard all day but hot sauce rarely) but this stuff actually had a flavor that enhanced the taste of food and no cover it up (tabasco fans im looking at you). they are a little backed up on online orders due to the hurricane but they will come.

Last time I went backpacking I put instant rice, dried vegetables, a protein source and spices into freezer bags for dinners. You can add boiling water to the bags so cleanup is a breeze, no need to clean out a pot after cooking just throw out the empty bag.
The best meal used some kind of salami that I cut up and a gumbo/Cajun spice blend I googled. Shit was so tasty.

There are some obscure packets not many places have. Not to mention some of us don't eat fast food that often or even have a chick fill e. I have ordered dehydrated meals from a place that also sells individual packets of hot sauce, honey, etc.
