There's a certain amount of common knowledge on this board that has been put on a podium and is now repeated as being the best tool/method for X job. It's lame. There are a million variations on any given thing you'll need to do while /out/, threads like this should be a place to learn about their differences and advantages, not just a place to repeat the same ideas and inadvertently push everyone towards a common school of thought.

Also hitting up youtube for reviews might be helpful when you're looking at new gear. You might go through a couple vids before you're ready to make a decision, so consider speeding up the video playback speed when you're slogging through multiple reviews.
