-Depending on where you’re gonna be, tents could be 3 or 4 season. If you’re gonna be facing tougher, colder weather get a 4 season tent and a quality sleeping bag. Warmer weathers, 3 season tent and slightly lighter sleeping bag, still quality though.
-If you’re gonna be in warmer weather, you can also go with a hammock. Hammocks are usually picked over tents because they’re lighter and subjectively speaking, comfier, but it’s not as handy if you’re in an area without trees or if you’re in 4 season conditions. If you’re getting a hammock you won’t need a sleeping pad but you will need an underquilt so... yeah.
-As far as clothing goes, I’d especially stock up on socks and invest in a quality pair of boots. Don’t, for the love of god, order boots online. Go to a local store and try them on. It’s so much better this way. Pack some thermals, pair of pants and an extra shirt or two, and anything else like a jacket, gloves, and or hat. Again tho, if you’re in warmer weather you won’t need some of this stuff. Pack accordingly.
-Go to knife threads for ideas and invest in a decent leatherman
-Get a good first aid kit!!
