>>1163606A couple of tips OP:
>Make sure you have comfortable shoes or boots and the 10 (or 14) essentials, in forms that you will actually be able to use>Do at least some conditioning if you haven't already>Know where you're going and how to get backBeyond that, some general knowledge and a few info graphics are good. But here's my warning to you: in our time we have an overload of information available to us at our slightest whim. A three minute search can yield hours of reading. Don't get so caught up on this part of preparing that you overcomplicate this for yourself and don't actually go anywhere. This is something that I've realized has ruined several chances for me to go hiking or backpacking. I get too caught up in planning shit.
>wanting to hike the perfect trail and being indecisive about choosing>wanting to pack the perfect food and prepare my own shit for gourmet dinners instead of just taking easy stuff I have>Repeatedly postponing my trip for the perfect weather or to make sure I 'have time to plan'Did you watch Felix Baumgartner make the space jump, OP? A lot of planning and practice went in to that, but eventually he had to just realize he wasn't going to gain anymore altitude or be any more ready, and it was time to push off the platform.
