I have 5 minutes of hot water and no bath... shit sucks. holy hell, I might go find a sauna/bath nearby after christmas, thanks for reminding me how cozy that is in winter... I almost forget how great soaking is when I'm used to just rushing my shower.

No, not really. I'm pretty private, but it's Christmas and we're talking!

I would pour out abou a US gallon and heat it on top of the kerosene heater. It took more tha ten minutes. Then start from topdown: face, hair, pits, groin, ass and feet.

Always felt a bit odd washing my feet in ass water! But that or wash my ass in feet water, so...

The outhouse was off yonder, a bit. There would be snow on the seat because no door. Best shitter with a 40 mile view!

Seriously, no lights for over 40 miles, just the stars. Hyakutati and Hale-Bopp also ran.

Changed my life.

I loved my wood burner. No phn, no electricity, no gas, hauled water in 5 gallon bottles and kerosene from a pump halfway to town.

I shit upon "soon to be homeless" threads. They are weak.

Oh, just some random stuff. You'd think it would be alot more interesting? Largely comes down to sitting inside or sitting outside! Making sure, sure you don't get stuck or hurt. Collecting wood was a nice distraction, but I like collecting wood. Sitting on the porch with 40 mile views was as hypnotic as watching an open fire outdoors! Which compared to using the wood burner inside was a bit extravagant! But a nice treat. I had my dog, back then and an aquarium so tending creatures was a nice living connection. Rabbits and such were out. The sky was amazing! Hyakutaki and Hale-Bopp were swift visitors! Hale-Bopp stayed for a good bit.

I was sitting on the porch one day:

So, yeah. He was Airforce and they're the only branch that flew F-15s.
