I keep some mountain house, oat meal, protein bars and a life boat ration in it at all times incase shtf. But I pack accordingly for however long I'll be out.
If I'm out for over a week or the weather is shit I add 2 sustainment pouches to the bag for food as the main area of the pack is around 2400 ci and can get filled up easily.
