I use a foot print on the outside, and a paw print on the inside.

i have a piece of tyvek i lay down under my air pad if i'm going to sleep outside without a tent, but i don't put anything under my tent.

i keep a tarp in my truck and have a bed in the back of the bed. so when i need to haul something dirty, i lay down the tarp

also my shit will leak under heavy rain, i can tarp up if need be

Weights nothing and packs away into the tent sack. Seems to do the job.

I just use $1 shower liners. Very light, simple, water proof, can double as overhead tarp to cover gear or wood and best of all.. $1.

I camp with a tarp and piece of polycro on the floor. polycro is sold as window insulation film. It's like 6 quid for a massive piece.
