>>1187427>haven’t checked those ones outIf you're going toward Alberta, immediately past Field there is a little campsite on the left side of the highway. The mountain that it's sitting at the base of contains Monarch mine. It's like a 15 minute climb up the scree slope, and you're at the entrance. It's pretty much impossible to miss. There's 3-ish levels, bring rubber boots, and enjoy the massive vertical ladder going to the 2nd level. Not sure if the bottom part is still intact, last time I was there the first 6 feet or so were gone. If you're not a fatass, you'll be fine.
The mountain on the other side of the road is Kicking Horse mine. It's a good deal bigger, but also a pain in the ass to get to. You have to shimmy across a ledge on the side of the mountain to get to the entrance (which you also have to wander around and find), so it's much less appealing to filthy casuls. There is an entrance further up the mountain that is easy to get to, but it's blocked off with expanding foam so unless you want to cut polyurethane all day, just find the lower one.
