Have you done ever been given a trail name? What is it? How did you get it?

Mine was Disney Dog on my PCT thru. I have a Husky named Nala(Lion King) I took with me.

Personally I'm not a fan of trail names, but whatya gonna do

Happens when you do sections on the AT/PCT/CDT/GDT.

Even if you hike alone you're going to be around a lot of people on the AT/PCT, especially the AT nowadays.

If your IRL name is Jack & you say, "I don't want a trail name", they'll call you, "Just Jack" or "Simple Jack" or something like that.

This freaking guy is a big reason the who trail name thing is a big as it is. I met him at Hawk Mountain campsite this year, and he looked disgusted at me when I said I'm sticking with my real name. Gave me some hippy speech about leaving the real self behind and making someone new on the trail. Then he gave me the peace sign and said "life on the trail man"...I wanted to bash him in the head with a rock

It's not really a trail name but I go hiking with my co-workers who nicknamed me Pit since there are multiple people with my name at work, and one of them was getting pissed because my nickname was 'little' anon and their nickname was 'big' anon. Anyway, I got that name because I work and work and don't stop even when I'm tired. I go to work an hour and a half early, I leave work two hours late, skip lunch, then I have work that I take home with me to do. Whenever I'm on the schedule, my name is on every list next to every job detail multiple times. On 'rotations', my name has at least 2x more check marks than any other employee.
On another note, the second biggest dude I worked and hiked with was nicknamed Kitty.
