i bought sit on top model 3 years ago, and i loved it, its simple to use, you dont have to worry about anything. its nearly impossible to fall off it, since then my 55 yr old dad bought a cheap sit in flat water kayak, he wont go in water above 5 ft. he isnt a great swimmer but he still takes the kayak out just stays close to shore. if he can do anyone can. Since then ive taught about 10 ppl how to kayak, its not as hard as everyone thinks. I taught a 13 yr old who has never been on a boat before, he picked it up in like 10 mins.
all you you really need is a kayak, a paddle and a life vest, forget all that other stuff for now, 3 years later, i have 3 kayaks now, and all i have are paddles and life vests.
