hey guys, I always like to be prepared when I go /out/.
I often like to pack along a folding shovel to dig cat holes and poop into. It just makes things so much easier. Post up your folding shovels. Pic is the one I prefer, though I have tried just about all of them.

Are you kidding me? There is an active thread here specificly about pooping in which nearly everyone is declaring they dig a hole first. I'd like to focus on folding shovels and other folding gear in this thread though.

folding shovels are for car camping, a sharp stick or a simple trowel is enough for catholes. Unless you plan on digging foxholes shovels are pretty useless for normal /out/ activities.

Mama's backyard then? We have this thread every month and the consensus is clear, useful inna car, useless weight for general /out/, but popular with all kind of milsurp larpers. Deal with it.

I use a stick. I call it a digging stick.

If the ground is so hard that I can't dig with my stick I just cover my poop with available debris / rocks.

If you only want to dig poop holes, why not use something like this. Much lighter and cheaper and you can use it as an emergency tent stake.

Of course you have to larp as gardener instead of soldier but that can be fun too.

Like dis? I have a short stool. It has a metal tube frame and folds up. Under it there's an insulated pack and it has carry handles. I use it for fishing trips.

no one's trying to say a shovel isn't better at digging, but a rock or stick you can leave when you're done with it, whereas a shovel you have to drag with you the entire trip.
