Hi /out/

I've lived in the city all my life and I've been wanting to make a bugout bag, but in the process, I've been slowly wanting to get into outdoor activities and learning basic survival skills in general.

What are some of the golden rules I should follow to not be a poser or larper? No tacticool backpacks? No excessive molle? No camo? No bomber jackets? Did hipsters ruin flannel? Where do I start?

But I want to do it. I'm going /out/side.
