How is it like to camp in a place like south america for example?
Is it even possible?

South Floridian here I assume it's similar to camping in Everglades or Big Cypress. Hammock with bug net, DEET and bug net for your face, lightweight fast drying clothing, trail runners that drain water and dry quickly instead of boots.

Jungle sucks shit unless it's beach camping in quintana ro for example, and that's absolutely beautiful. No going inawoods though, too dense, nothing to actually accomplish in there.

Another archaeologist here, have camped in tropical jungle in Guatemala/Mexico. It's not "fun", but it is satisfying in terms of overcoming a challenge while doing your job. Hammock with bug net is crucial. Also machete and rubber boots. Also hire some local guys who have bushcraft skills, they will tell you what plants not to touch, kill vipers, and so on in addition to helping with the actual work.

I live in a temperate rainforest. In the summer it can be 105F and around 80-90% humidity during the day. At night it can be 90-100F and 100% humidity. It is basically the worst of the worst when trying to get to sleep. You can't just sleep without at least some insect netting or the spiders will carry you off. The tiniest tear or zipper section open in the tent means 5 new spiders per hour getting in. Ants are a problem too, but only if they are the stinging kind and there's 2 kinds of stinging ants in this area. Hammocks only help marginally. As a result, air flow is reduced and you essentially sweat until you pass out. That's the worst part. During the day everything is hazy from all the isoprene and other compounds released from the plant life. The best camping is in the fall. Spring is basically 3 feet of mud from rains.

If camping in South America is any better than that, sign me the fuck up.

I used to go hike in South America with a friend who was from Ecuador. Every time I left I'd joke to my Mom about getting shot or falling off a mountain or something. You tend not to think it'll be you. Don't know what kind of retard spends time on social media when abroad though.
