Life-choices piece of gear, probably my first snowmobile. Got me into the sport, learned a lot from that machine and the people I've met because of it.

As far as gear goes, probably my body armor. Doing stupid shit is painful, protective gear makes doing that stupid shit hurt a lot less.

My hardshell was quite an investment, but today I can't see how I got along without it. Having a high-end shell jacket that is simple and light, strong, breathable, has a good hood and zippers under the armpits for ventilation is just such a basic thing for me that I don't even think about it any more.
