Quick without thinking about it. What's your favorite national park/forest/grassland etc. And why? Mine is pic related because the fishing and hiking are good tier.

I like Hiawatha national forest, Because the woods are beautiful, its cool in the summer, and its not a far drive from Ohio.

Seqouia-Kings Canyon National Park because of the vast emptiness of it. Beautiful Sierra scenery without the crowds, and I went in summer (July). I got to talk with one of the backcountry rangers for around 30 minutes, interesting guy.

its pretty sweet and goes most of the way across the state. They're working on another one called the Ozark trail, which when finished should make it possible to hike from st. Louis to Fayetteville, AR. ATM its just a bunch of segments but they go through the heart of Mark Twain.

Sequoia is awesome. Lots of great free campsites that are usually empty.
