No it wont. That five percent cotton is going to hold excess water and act as a hearts no making you colder. It'll be more like seventeen percent cotton. Go with one hundred percent wool and go with alpaca wool its half the weight of sheep's wool while still being warmer than sheep's wool. Don't fall for kiwi propaganda.

I don't know where you find wool cotton blends. It's always polyester or nylon, which holds less water than wool.

IMO 80-85% and above you should be good. Just make sure it is thick and well constructed.

Old military ones are usually a good deal, they may smell a bit when you get them. Air them out and/or give them a "wool wash".

Poncho liner is the absolutely best, light and very warm, plus easy to compress and pack. You could bring 3 for the weight and space a wool blanket would take up and you’d be a lot warmer

5% is too much. Arc'teryx sells 1x2meter blankets with 98% olymp wool and 2% propylpethyne synthetic filament (same thing to keep astronauts warm in zero gravity) for $690. Definitely worth checking out!

Sleeping bags are terrible for more than 2 or 3 days unless you can unzip them all the way and dry them facing the fire in the next morning. If you don't, they get steadily moister and moister on the inside. Regardless, they're harder to throw off in the middle of the night than loose blankets, and the latter will not trap foul humors or miasmas close to the body during sleep.

5 yards double width for a great kilt depending on waist size,but if you don't make the "pleats" you can make it with much less fabric that will do in a pinch. The earliest belted plaids were just blankets so it doesn't need an exact length "the whole 9 yards" thing is a myth.
