What are some really basic /out/ things you've had to explain to people you've been with?

For me it was most often about purifying water but also got a lot of fire prep (Getting all your shit ready ahead of time instead of after you catch your spar and blow your tinder to flame)

Mainly proper use & safety of tools, fire starting, and firewood processing. It seems everyone is a retard who can't think 2 seconds into the future or make logical connections like not holding a log with your hand while you hit it with a hatchet.

I have to remind myself about fire prep when it's wet out, otherwise I sometimes find myself skipping on proper tinder/kindling prep because im impatient and treat it like dry wood

I had to explain to a kid that Raisins were dried grapes and not a completely separate fruit after he found a not so dried one in his gorp

I can't tell you how many times I've had to tell people to not chop down live trees for firewood. They always do it anyway. I'll never understand why people will spend 30 minutes trying to fell a tree with a hatchet just to have a shitty, smokey fire when there is plenty of deadwood around.
