Thoughts on using animals to pack? I am considering getting a couple goats(for their milk and they are small and hardy) or a llama(strong bones and versatile, only need one animal basically) but am unsure on the restrictions. I know some areas ban them entirely, or you need a permit, but it is hard to find what areas these are exactly. Anyone else with experience on this? If I am not allowed to take them in more rugged areas, them I wouldn't need to get a more rugged animal like a llama who are more expensive to house and feed but make up for their packing ability. And yes, I know goats milk is very different from cows. Been there done that don't care.
