>>1209705Copied and pasted from /k/, I assume that has a similar barometer and altimeter as mine.
I have a PRG-270
Pros:
Solar face
Good barometer
Compass is accurate, useful, and easy to calibrate
Big buttons so it's not a pain to use while wearing gloves or in the dark
Option to turn the light on when you raise your arm
Can log data such as altitude change and has graphs for altitude, temperature, and barometer
Big numbers so it's easy to quickly read
A bunch of alarms
Easy to cycle through timezones
Sunrise/set prediction based on latitude
Alarm goes off if/when barometer suddenly drops
Cheaper than a G-Shock
More features than most G-Shocks
Slimmer and less xxxXXXXxxhardcore420xxXXXx tactical than certain G-shocks
Altimeter is accurate if you keep it calibrated, as in zero drift from 450 feet above sea level to a vaccum and back down
Very accurate, you can leave it for a few months and be within a second of where it should be.
I've had mine for four years and it almost looks new except for some scuffs on the band from lifting shit covered in sand and from general innawoods stuff.
Cons:
Gloves with a velcro strap press the buttons if you bend your hand enough
Altimeter needs to be calibrated daily
Thermometer takes several minutes to get an accurate reading if you wear it on bare skin or under a jacket
16mm strap bar instead of 20 so aftermarket straps require an adapter
That's about it
