Would a bear go after marijuana in a tent/backpack?
Every pet I have seen is repulsed by the smell of dank weed.

Aside from the plant itself, would they be attracted to smoke odors in clothes?

I might depend on where you are, like if the bear has encountered weed before he might be into it. Deer will jump 6ft fences to get to weed, and my dog used to snatch oil, so it's not just because it's a plant or whatever.

Op here.... I've had many dogs/cats, and held buds down for them, and each has reacted from wrinkling nose to sneering and sneezing at it. I always thought it was offensive to pets.

I store mine in glass mason jars, so there is little chance my dog/cat could get into it.

Bears are way less picky than dogs when it comes to meals. I always wondered if having weed in the tent, or smoking before bed was a good idea in the bush.

Good point. I knew deer would eat the live plants. If bears were thinking it was food they'd be ripping open those deer fences left and right. I was hoping for maybe someone who knew someone to chime in with any wild grow stories.

If things like deodorant or hand sanitizer are considered scent attractors for bears, I assume weed would be.

Is it really though? Depending on where you look, or who you ask, they'll make the case that cannabis is also toxic to humans. There's still a lot of bias around. Alcohol is also "toxic" yet we sell it at every street corner, yum yum! Toxic has a very ambiguous meaning.

There is also the fact that just eating nugs doesn't do much in itself, unless the relevant molecules within have been activated beforehand, either through heat or prolonged contact wih oxygen. But that's another topic entirely.
