Been shopping for a better base layer system than I already have going because I want to be comfy in cold temperatures while /out/. I see a bunch of people recommend merino wool for base layer, but I also see reviews on brands like smartwool only lasting a year before holes and pilling. I came across the Arcteryx LEAF brand and it looks like a solid setup although not 100% merino wool. Any thoughts on the brand?

What are your opinions on merino wool and it's durability? Is it worth getting something that is 100% merino wool or are wool mixes like pic related better for longevity?
