>>121269I attempted Electric Peak last July/August. The hike is OK: not too many hikers, but we ran into at least 3 groups of Teddy Roosevelt wannabees on horseback. I believe we camped at 1G4. Great spot for scenery, but finding a place to set up a tent was rough. The peak itself nearly killed me. In June, I'm not sure it would be possible.
Also did the Pebble Creek trail. From the northern trailhead, you have a somewhat strenuous climb for the first mile or so. Then it's all downhill. Don't remember the exact site we used, but it was right along the creek. Again, amazing views.
My advice: as soon as you get to the park, stop at a ranger station and talk to someone. That's how I ended up doing the Pebble Creek trail. Just let them know what part of the park you'd like to see, how long you'd like to hike, how strenuous of a hike you're willing to do, and they'll point you in the right direction.
