In Florida where I live we are experiencing one of the most successfull rebounds of a close to extinct species, the florida black bear. At one point in time there were less than 100 in all of florida, hunting them was declared illegal and over the past 30 years populations have reached and exceeded every estimate to the point that we are at currently, where we have more black bears in the state than any time in the last 100+ years.
You can see why this might be a problem, which is why in 2015 we had the first bear hunt in over 30 years, and the liberals are still crying about it, and we havent had one since, despite every enviromentalist and biologist practically screaming about the bear populations and how they will be encroaching on peoples homes soon, which we have already seen, several violent attacks in 2017.
Most recently a man south of tampa was attacked by a juvenile black bear stepping out of his front door to walk his dog. He had just enough time to go back inside but the bear still caught him in the face, mangling his (now) ugly mug and killed the dog.
There are still no plans for upcoming bear hunts in Florida.
Highest amount of bears in the past 100 years, and 20 times the population of humans in that same time, makes you think.
