Why does Europe never get as much snow as let's say the the cities near the great lakes in the USA?
the lake effect should occur here too shouldn't it
and the cold air travels across a greater body of water in pic related than compared to the great lakes so why don't we get as much snow as them?

(for example the cold air that travels across the North sea is a bigger body of water than the great lakes in the USA yet they get like 10x more snow sometimes)
