Whats your deep woods carry?

I prefer a .45 for shear stopping power, though I do understand that the 7+1 or 8+1 can be limited, but if you need more than 9 rounds, something is seriously wrong.

Were talking Northerners here, I wouldn't carry this in the High Desert, Im talking deep woods summer in Canada/MT/Idaho

enjoy your well groomed National Park trails while them men handle the bushwaking, in actual terrain.

Wolves are the serious issue, Shooting a moose will just piss it off, and bears are too skittish

Also carry bear spray, which is an effective less-than-lethal people-repellant too.

I've been close enough to bears to kick them... see them about once a month through the summer.
I know there's mountain lions where I play too, though I've never seen one in-person. Buddy had one stalking his wife at their house for a while last summer.
'Yotes, foxes, deer/elk, skunks, porcupines...

...occasional meth-cooking campsite...

Lots of reasons to have a tool like that with you. But it's up to you to use it (and carry/store it) responsibly.
