Pic related, this guy walks along the tops of mountain ranges with nothing but bread and I'm assuming water. Is this actually doable?

rolled oats, simmered in a pot with water. Milk powder added after it's removed from the heat. Pretty simple stuff.

Buddy, best thing you can get is instant mashed potato pouches. Tasty as fuck, just add hot water. You can spice em up really easy with bacon bits, hot sauce, or cheese powder like you get with Mac and cheese, get it at bulk barn for cheap. If you want to get fancy just boil some jerky bits in the water for a few minutes before you pour it in, or some dehydrated vegetable soup mix. soft beef and fluffy mash. That shits good enough to eat at home.

I've done long hikes with nothing but cold oatmeal. If you get the instant variety, you don't have to cook it- just tear the top of the pack off and add water. I like eating well while out though, once I proved to myself I could go on a super simple diet I don't see the need to do it anymore.
