Hunting laws vary between state, but as far as I know you need a specific licence to hunt kangaroo - generally only commercial hunters undertaking pest control or shooting for butchers/meat companies can shoot roos. It's a stupid law because roo populations are fucking huge. Hunting deer, pigs and foxes is much more popular.
