>>1226177I bought some of those Mini Z-Mans before and they work real well when the bite is slow. I wacky rig em weightless on some 10lb braid and they have great motion and sink real slow so you can twitch them a bit and they suspend and anything around will try and grab them.
I tried some different ones. IIRC the short Yamamotos like that sink a little faster and have good action but the Z-Man soft plastic might give the most lifelike movement. Tried the little Yum senkos too and they are shit, they have like no movement. Too stiff.
>>1226206Ehh I think they use the same packaging for different sizes and types so smaller ones will be 6 to a pack and big ones might only be 3 or 4.
>>1226272>>1226317It’s not contrarian. It’s because they suck. We aren’t telling you to go buy a $400 G Loomis if you want to catch fish. Contrarian wouldn’t be telling you to spend the same money on a Berkley Lightning Rod at any Walmart or Dick’s for $39.
It’s because Ugly Stiks are heavy fiberglass rods with terrible action. If you want to soak bait for carp and hope your nephew won’t snap the thing when he starts using it as a sword, try the Ugly Stik I guess. If you want something that has action and will balance better and feels more like a bass fishing rod than a tent pole, buy literally any of the dozens of rods for the same price or $10-$20 more from popular companies.
Ugly Stiks have the same action as the $10 Bass Pro “oh shit my rod broke and I spent all my money on weed and Wendy’s but still need a new rod today” fiberglass special. If you don’t give a fuck, save yourself $30. $40 isn’t a lot when it comes to fishing rods, but it’s still a waste when you spend it on a wobbly ass Ugly Stik GX2.
Pic related shows how much that flimsy piece of shit bends under it’s own weight when held horizontal. That’s not action.
